Why Lenders Should Consider Offering an Auto Lending App

This summer will mark the 10th anniversary of the debut of the app store which has grown to more than 2.2 million apps, which have come to occupy five hours of a consumer’s day. But, are lenders doing enough to capture that valuable screen time?

Billions of smartphone owners use mobile apps daily. A consumer’s average time spent on mobile apps per day has increased 69% year-over-year according to a March 2018 report from analytics firm Flurry. More importantly to lenders, mobile banking has gone mainstream, as 61% of people use mobile phones to carry out banking activity and 48% of them use a dedicated banking app, according to Mobile Ecosystem Forum’s recent Mobile Money Report.

But despite this popularity of consumer banking apps, there are a number of lenders not yet investing in the mobile infrastructure for online auto lending, even though it has proved fruitful elsewhere.

7 Ways to Improve the Customer Payment Experience

The rapid increase in connected digital devices is changing the way people interact with the world and thereby making the customer payment experience ripe for innovation and disruption.

The idea of paying by check, or wiring money, has become an outdated concept. Instead, you will find customers asking for more than ACH payments, but also debit, credit and other mobile payment options, according to Preston Cecil, chief operating officer of Payix, a white label service that provides collections tools, payment processing resources, and business intelligence solutions to U.S. lenders and auto dealers.

Parker Anderson Employee Spotlight

Since our launch in March 2017, Payix has accomplished many things, but one of our proudest accomplishments is the team we’ve assembled. We have a terrific group of professionals who work at Payix, and we’d like to continue our team highlights by introducing Parker Anderson to you today.

As our Information Technology Specialist, Parker focuses on ensuring all the Payix products are functioning properly. This involves testing for software bugs (flaws) and reporting what he finds to the development team. He also aids other team members in building and installing our products, as well as integrating them with our clients’ systems after the testing has been completed.

If this seems like a wide variety of work, you’d be right. On a daily basis, Parker handles several different projects at a time. It sounds challenging, but Parker says this is the most enjoyable part of his job. “I like the fact that I’m not just working on one thing every day,” Parker said. “I get to take part, and help out, with many different projects. And all the things I do come together to make our products work cohesively and smoothly.”

Parker also likes to keep busy outside of work. On weekends, he repairs cars, a hobby he became interested in because of his grandfather who owns a business working with classic cars. It’s not uncommon for Parker to spend his time helping his friends and family with car repairs when needed as well. Parker says his ultimate dream would be to find a 1995 Toyota Supra — which he says is an iconic Japanese car — and fix it up for himself to drive.

Kevin Fisher Employee Spotlight

Here at Payix, we pride ourselves on our team of talented individuals. All are professionals in their respective fields, and we want to take this opportunity to introduce you to another of our team members today.

Kevin Fisher brings over 25 years of telecommunications and data networking experience to his position here at Payix. As our Client Integration and IT Manager, Kevin is heavily involved in product development and production. He works with developers to create client products and takes part in testing to ensure the products work properly before delivering them to the client.

Though he has an impressive amount of experience, Kevin said he still learns new things about software implementation all the time. “I enjoy the fact that this is a new and challenging opportunity that is different than the work I’ve done before,” Kevin said.

Kevin also likes to challenge himself outside the office through his weekend activities. He loves to take his jeep out with his wife, daughter and friends and go rock crawling, an extreme form of off-road driving. On these adventures, they attempt to drive up or down incredibly steep ridges and hills to see if their jeeps can handle the task. Even when they aren’t four wheeling, Kevin and his family still like to be active on the weekends, going camping or fishing when they can.
